Painting Day!

Today we did a TON of work in the baby's room. We got all the walls painted and the baseboards up and finished. Daddy also worked on painting the changing table so we can move it into the room. Tomorrow Daddy will work on the mural and the polka dots. Those things are up to Daddy since Mommy does not have any artistic ability at all!! The last thing we will have to do is put up the new closet doors, then we are ready to load the room with furniture. I can not wait to see it all come together!!! Above we have a before and after of one of the corners in the room. You can see the dramatic change!

Doctor's Appointment

32 weeks...This past Wednesday we had another doctor's appointment. Nothing major, all is normal with the baby. Mommy has only gained 13 pounds during the whole pregnancy. I lost weight since the last appointment. Even though I have been eating like a crazy woman! Daddy and Mommy have gotten in the habit of having ice cream sundaes before bed. Watch out I will probably pack on the pounds during these last two months!! Mommy and Daddy are getting over really bad colds or the flu. I had to stay home and rest for two days because whatever I had knocked me down hard! Everyone is getting better now.

This weekend we are going to paint the baby's nursery. We will take pictures to add to the website. I hope the room turns out as cute as it looks inside my head! We also have now officially received all the furniture for the room. It isn't all put together, we are waiting for the room to get finished before we load it with furniture. Daddy has been working hard on baseboards and the changing table. They just have to be painted and installed. Then the last big project is the barn door for the closet. Let's hope that gets done real soon!!! Time is ticking away!

New Baby Bedding!

31 weeks...Well even though we loved our original bedding choice, the company that makes it chose not to release it until the end of March. This made us have to look elsewhere for bedding since Mommy really wants the room painted, etc. before the end of February. So we found something we love at Target!! The best part is...it is cheaper and has more items to go with it!!

30 weeks

We are 30 weeks along and only have 10 more weeks left. As you can see the baby belly is getting rounder and bigger. It is now very uncomfortable to bend over or put on socks and shoes. This will make for an interesting next 10 weeks. We are starting to prepare more for the baby to arrive. Daddy and Grandpa Bill have been working on the room. We are starting to get the suitcase for the hospital ready too. This weekend we bought the baby outfits to wear at the hospital and a special outfit and blanket to wear home. I can't stop looking at the outfits because they are so tiny and cute! Today we had our first baby class. The class was on breastfeeding. Not that we are completely ready to take on the challenge of breastfeeding, but I feel a lot more prepared for it than before the class. The instructor had lots of helpful hints and good information about the benefits of breastfeeding. Tomorrow we start our labor and delivery class. This is the first of four sessions. We should learn a lot more about the baby and other good stuff during these classes too.

Doctor's Appointment

28.5 weeks...Today we had another doctor's appointment. It was a quickie! The baby's heart rate was 132 bpm this time and this made us think boy! But those wives tales are very unscientific. My blood pressure is still good and I am measuring about 27 weeks, so a little behind in size. Again every doctor measures different too. I have gained a total of 14 pounds which isn't bad, but I wish it were less!! We have another appointment in three weeks and then we start going every two weeks. They told us this last time so I am glad we don't have to start going that often just yet! I can't believe that we are in our third trimester and only have about 11 weeks to go! The baby will be here quicker that we think. The room still is not really started, but Chad has worked really hard to get it primed and ready to paint whenever we figure out what color we are going to paint it.

Test Results

Today I got a call from the nurse at my doctor's office saying that I am negative for gestational diabetes and anemia. Everything is looking good. I was a little worried with all the sweets that this baby is making me crave! I thought for sure my sugar levels would be sky high!

Doctor's Appointment

26 weeks...On Friday we had another doctor's appointment. I had to take the glucose test. The drink wasn't that bad a little like orange crush without the fizz. We will find out the results sometime next week. Hopefully I passed and won't have to take the 3 hour test. They measured my belly at 27 weeks, which is great because I am not measuring way bigger like my last visit. My blood pressure is good and the baby's heart rate was 150 bpm which is also very normal. She had trouble getting the heart rate on the baby because it kept moving around once she would find it. We have a little squirmer on our hands I think. I have only gained a total of 10 pounds which is amazing since all I want to eat is candy and junk food. This baby totally has daddy's taste buds!! We will post the news on whether or not I passed the glucose test as soon as we know!

Happy New Year!!

25 1/2 weeks...Well Happy 2008 to everyone. The baby got to ring in the new year with Mommy, Daddy, Lindsay, Ben, Benjamin, Caden and the new little girl Kahl. We swapped lots of pregnancy stories and enjoyed watching Caden walk all over the house. He is getting so grown up! Daddy also played Benjamin's new guitar and entertained Caden! We also ate New Year's Day lunch with Grandma Ruthie, Grandpa Kenny, Aunt Kendra H., Uncle Derrick, Kierra, Kendrick, and Kynzie. We hope that everyone has a great 2008 we know we will with our new arrival in April!

Babymoon!

Well the Lohnes clan just arrived back home after a very wonderful Babymoon in Las Vegas, Nevada. The baby had several of it's first this trip. First airplane ride, first limo ride, first trip to Vegas (after being conceived), first trip to Hoover Dam, and first time in two states at once (Nevada and Arizona). When we took off for Vegas the baby was doing somersaults in my belly. We got to see the baby also move a glass of water on my belly. The baby kicked like crazy the whole time we were out there. Now that we are back I think it is just as tired as Mommy and Daddy because the movements are small and a lot fewer! Above are a few pictures of our trip, enjoy!

Christmas Eve Surprise Sonogram!

24 weeks...On Christmas Eve we were able to get a Christmas present from Mrs. Claus and the baby. We were lucky enough to go and get another sonogram. Can you tell we LOVE to see this baby. It is becoming a very tight fit in Mommy's belly. The baby as usual had it's arms by it's head and even crossed it's hands in front of it's face shying away from us. We got to see those long legs and big feet again too. The face on the screen was very vivid and the baby has a really round face. I think that takes after Mommy. Mommy, Daddy and Baby all wish everyone a very, very Merry Christmas! We all three had a great time with all of our family and got lots and lots of goodies for all of us to enjoy! Have a great New Year too!!

Doctor's Appointment/Sonogram

21 weeks...On Monday we had our regular check up, my blood pressure was good and the baby's heart beat was strong at 150 bpm. They measured my belly twice and said I measured at 29 weeks and I was only 21 weeks. This raised some concern with the doctor since the measurement was so far off my due date. The doctor said it could be a few things: due date was way off, we could be having twins or I could have extra fluid (which could be bad). She scheduled an earlier sonogram than what was planned. We waited two agonizing days!!! Today we went to the sonogram along with Grandma Ruthie, Grandpa Kenny, Grandma Geri, Grandpa Bill, and Aunt Kendra H. The baby measured to only be a week ahead which is totally normal. The heart looked good and sounded great at 140 bpm this time. The fluid looked fine and not any extra. We all got to see the baby really show it's stuff. It wiggled all it's fingers for us and even gave us a #1 signal and a gun salute with it's hands. The sonogram tech showed us both of it's feet and arms, the spine and the profile of it's face. The pictures above are from this visit. This visit was very special because Grandpa Bill had never seen a human baby sonogram before. I think he was amazed at the baby moving and wiggling around. Everyone is very happy that everything is okay, especially the Mommy and Daddy!!

21 Weeks

Today we took another monthly picture. The belly is growing as you can see. I am already noticing that I have a little shelf. We also picked up the baby's crib from Walmart and put it together today. As you can see we had two little helpers watching over the building of the crib. The crib is nicer than I even expected. We are very excited to finally have an item for the baby, that we bought.
