4th of July!!

This was an exciting week! On Wednesday Mommy turned 31! We went out to dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Stults and the Henke clan. I was pretty sleepy and slept through the end of dinner. Then when we came back home I tried out Grandma Ruthie's new bumbo and my cousin Kierra read a ton of books to me! I loved it as you can tell. I listened really good and laughed at all the funny parts! I can't wait until she comes to stay with us for a week on the 14th. She is going to be a great help to Mommy, Daddy and little Auggie.
Then on Friday I celebrated my very first 4th of July! It was very exciting. We went to lunch at an American treasure, a true 50's style drive-up, Lou's in Peoria. I experienced the burger, fries, root beer and milk shake 6 hours later thanks to Mommy. Then after lunch we made it over to our neighbor's house for a block party. We swam even though it was freezing and Auggie did not mind. Then after a long visit with all of our neighbors we walked down to another neighbors house to watch the fireworks from their river view. By the beginning of the fireworks Auggie was asleep and not even phased by the fireworks. Auggie slept through the entire thing and didn't even wake up while Mommy and Daddy talked to the neighbors again back at the Taylor's house after the fireworks. We had a great week with so much excitement and fun!!

Surfer Baby!

Auggie went swimming at Grandma Geri's pool for the first time last Friday and he was really one cool surfer dude! He loved the water and all of the attention Mommy and Daddy gave him because he loked so darn cute! Also there is a picture of Auggie in his crib on the first night sleeping all by himself away from Mommy and Daddy's bedside. He is growing up too fast!

Two Months Old!

Auggie turned two months old June 16th. We celebrated by getting his pictures taken at JC Penney and then going out to dinner at Olive Garden. Mommy also bought him some really cool sunglasses as you can see in the picture. Finally we had birthday rice krispie treats made by Mommy. They were yummy! Today we went to the doctor and found out how much Auggie has grown. He is an astounding 13.8 lbs and 25 1/4 inches long. The doctor said he is in the 99% for height and 91% for weight. He said he is in the 50% for a 5 month old. He said everything looks great and healthy, he is just a big kid. He said his height and weight are very proportional so nothing to be concerned about. Keep looking for the photos from JC Penney I will post them as soon as I get them.
Father's Day

This weekend we celebrated Father's Day. We started off with a celebration in Springfield with Grandpa Kenny. We went to a Mexican restaurant and Auggie had a good time smiling at his cousins over and over again. Then Sunday we went to church then Mommy, Daddy and Auggie went to another Mexican restaurant in East Peoria. It is one of Daddy's favorite kinds of food! Then we went out to Grandpa Bill's house to spend time with him. Auggie ended up puking on Granpa Bill for Father's Day after he fed him! Not the present Grandpa Bill probably wanted! I think Daddy had a really good first Father's Day. Auggie and Mommy are so lucky to have such a wonderful, helpful, and loving Daddy! He is the best in the whole world!

Weekend of Firsts!

Auggie had a jam packed weekend! He did many firsts this weekend. On Friday night it was his first trip to the Tremont Turkey Festival. He enjoyed the turkey sandwich and strawberry shortcake 6 hours after Mommy ate it! Then on Saturday night he went to his first movie at the drive-in theatre in Springfield. He slept through both movies and missed Indiana Jones and Ironman. Then finally on Sunday Auggie went to the pool for the first time. He swam with Mommy and Daddy at Knights Action Park. He enjoyed the kiddie pool and a few laps around the lazy river laying on Mommy's chest. Auggie is growing so big, his Aunt Kendra H. was almost brought to tears because he has grown so much since she last saw him.

New things!

Auggie is growing so fast and I can't believe he will be two months old in just over a week! He finally got to meet Carsen Kahl, Lindsay's newest addition to the family. Mommy is planning on having them be very good friends and some day get married! Just kidding! As you can see Auggie is HUGE compared to dainty little Carsen, and get this Carsen is three weeks older than Auggie!!! The other picture above is of Auggie taking his first nap in his big boy crib. He hasn't slept in the crib yet, but I think he likes it.

One Month Old!

On May 16th Auggie turned one month old! I can't believe a whole month has gone by already! We celebrated by going and having his pictures taken at JC Penney. The pictures turned out wonderful and we can't wait to get them and post them on here. We also had cupcakes made by Aunt Kendra H., thank goodness she made them so Mommy did not have to make anything! We all know how much I like to cook or bake!
First Bottle Feeding

Yesterday Auggie was 4 weeks old and we decided to try a breast milk bottle for the first time. I wondered if he would take it okay and I shouldn't have because as soon as Chad popped it in his mouth he started gulping it down. He finished 4 oz. in record time and I think would have taken more if we would have had more. Daddy really enjoyed the bonding time with him too. Mommy was a little sad to be a bystander in the feeding for the first time.

Mother's Day

Auggie is now 3 weeks and 4 days old. Where does time go? I can't believe he will be a month old this week. Sorry it has been so long since we posted, but life has been a little busy around here. Auggie has been traveling like crazy. In his 3 short weeks of life he has been to Indianapolis for a family wedding and Springfield twice. This past Saturday we went to Springfield to celebrate Mother's Day with Grandma Ruthie. We went to church on Sunday and then out to eat. This was Auggie's first over night stay at Grandma and Grandpa Stults' house. He loved rocking in the recliner with Grandma Ruthie! It was my first Mother's Day and Auggie and Chad made the day an unforgettable one! I am very proud to be Auggie's Mommy!
