Babymoon!

Well the Lohnes clan just arrived back home after a very wonderful Babymoon in Las Vegas, Nevada. The baby had several of it's first this trip. First airplane ride, first limo ride, first trip to Vegas (after being conceived), first trip to Hoover Dam, and first time in two states at once (Nevada and Arizona). When we took off for Vegas the baby was doing somersaults in my belly. We got to see the baby also move a glass of water on my belly. The baby kicked like crazy the whole time we were out there. Now that we are back I think it is just as tired as Mommy and Daddy because the movements are small and a lot fewer! Above are a few pictures of our trip, enjoy!

Christmas Eve Surprise Sonogram!

24 weeks...On Christmas Eve we were able to get a Christmas present from Mrs. Claus and the baby. We were lucky enough to go and get another sonogram. Can you tell we LOVE to see this baby. It is becoming a very tight fit in Mommy's belly. The baby as usual had it's arms by it's head and even crossed it's hands in front of it's face shying away from us. We got to see those long legs and big feet again too. The face on the screen was very vivid and the baby has a really round face. I think that takes after Mommy. Mommy, Daddy and Baby all wish everyone a very, very Merry Christmas! We all three had a great time with all of our family and got lots and lots of goodies for all of us to enjoy! Have a great New Year too!!

Doctor's Appointment/Sonogram

21 weeks...On Monday we had our regular check up, my blood pressure was good and the baby's heart beat was strong at 150 bpm. They measured my belly twice and said I measured at 29 weeks and I was only 21 weeks. This raised some concern with the doctor since the measurement was so far off my due date. The doctor said it could be a few things: due date was way off, we could be having twins or I could have extra fluid (which could be bad). She scheduled an earlier sonogram than what was planned. We waited two agonizing days!!! Today we went to the sonogram along with Grandma Ruthie, Grandpa Kenny, Grandma Geri, Grandpa Bill, and Aunt Kendra H. The baby measured to only be a week ahead which is totally normal. The heart looked good and sounded great at 140 bpm this time. The fluid looked fine and not any extra. We all got to see the baby really show it's stuff. It wiggled all it's fingers for us and even gave us a #1 signal and a gun salute with it's hands. The sonogram tech showed us both of it's feet and arms, the spine and the profile of it's face. The pictures above are from this visit. This visit was very special because Grandpa Bill had never seen a human baby sonogram before. I think he was amazed at the baby moving and wiggling around. Everyone is very happy that everything is okay, especially the Mommy and Daddy!!

21 Weeks

Today we took another monthly picture. The belly is growing as you can see. I am already noticing that I have a little shelf. We also picked up the baby's crib from Walmart and put it together today. As you can see we had two little helpers watching over the building of the crib. The crib is nicer than I even expected. We are very excited to finally have an item for the baby, that we bought.

Bedding

We decided on a bedding set for the baby room this weekend. It is modern and very colorful and has polka dots, which is Mommy's favorite!! Hopefully the baby will like it too. We also ordered the baby's new crib and it should be here sometime within the next week. Can't wait to see how it looks.

A New Friend!

Today we found out that my friend Lindsay (who is 20 weeks pregnant) will be having a girl! We are so excited for Ben, Lindsay, Caden and Benjamin. That mommy was way out numbered and needed a girl on her side! Just kidding. Our baby will have either a new friend or a new girlfriend!!! You never know what the future may bring! Either way, I know our kids will love to hang out while us Moms have all our lunch and dinner dates together. Can't wait to see that beautiful little girl!

Doctor's Appointment

Well today marked the beginning of our 18th week. We also had another doctor's appointment. I have only gained two pounds so far, which the nurse said was just fine. I agree! I already was packing some extra weight before I got pregnant. The nurse took my blood pressure and said it was REALLY GOOD. She stressed that part, I was very happy about my blood pressure. She also measured my belly and said that my uterus was high and that was normal. Chad and I got to hear the heartbeat again and also got to hear some movements. It is so neat to listen to that little heart. She said we had a healthy normal baby and I was healthy too. We have our next appointment and official sonogram to check out the baby's anatomy on December 6th.

17 weeks

Today was our monthly picture tracking the belly. It is getting bigger, even though it just looks like flab there is a baby in there I swear! We even have pictures to prove it. When I lay down you can tell my tummy is getting harder and harder. It is neat to lay down at night and feel the lump.

Extra Sonogram!!

16 weeks pregnant...On Saturday we had the chance again to have an unplanned sonogram. Mommy wanted one real bad to make sure everything was okay and just to see the adorable little baby again! The baby has grown so much, it is absolutley amazing. We saw one of its hands and all five fingers on it. We also saw its long, long legs and big feet! It was moving all over the place. We also got to see the heart beating. This all made Mommy and Daddy feel much better. I think I have been feeling what they call "quickening", I have felt a few little flutters here and there. Our next doctor's appointment is November 8th. We will post the sonogram pictures when we have access to a scanner.

Draino Test

Tonight we did our first draino test to see what the baby will be. I know it is an old wives tale, but we thought it would be fun to try it and see if it turns out right. We took the test and it came out that we will be having a girl. We will try it again later to see if the results are the same or not. I think I have heard you can take it as early as 4 months but we may have taken it too early. Just a fun little Friday night activity!

Doctors Appointment

14 Weeks Pregnant...Today was our second baby check-up. It only took us an amazing 15 minutes! Dr. Mueller listened to the baby's heartbeat, which took him awhile to find. The heart was beating at 154 beats per minute. Mommy and Daddy love to hear those thumps! He also checked where my uterus is and he said it is already high. Dr. Mueller asked if we had any questions and we couldn't think of any, maybe we should have asked what it means if my uterus is high! Having Aunt Kendra H just a phone call away helps me get a lot of my questions answered before I ever see my doctor! Next time we have to think of questions before our appointment so we don't seem like such bad parents! Dr. Mueller told us we are having a very normal pregnancy, that makes me feel great! Our next appointment is November 8th.

Surprise Sonogram!!

13 Weeks Pregnant...This past weekend we had the wonderful opportunity to have an unplanned sonogram. Daddy and I were so excited to see the little peanut again! We got to see it kick, hiccup and turn over. The baby loved to put it's right arm next to it's head. At one point it even wiped it's face with it's hand. We got to see a better view of the baby's face, the spine and the heart. It is so wonerful to sit there and see what is inside of you. It makes it so much more real!! Daddy and I would love to own a sonogram machine to watch the baby every night. The pictures are above. Some are better than others. I know it is hard to figure out what is what if you haven't seen many sonograms, but trust me they are amazing!!!

12 1/2 Weeks

Today we are 12 1/2 weeks along in the pregnancy. Mommy and baby are doing fine. As you can see I am getting bigger! When you feel my tummy it is getting harder. I am so excited to feel the first movement, which should be in about a month and a half! Daddy has been talking and singing to the baby right before bed time.
On the not so fun side, I threw my back out a week ago, but it is starting to feel normal again thanks to a great chiropractor and tylenol with codeine!! When I went to the doctor, for my back, last Monday I got to hear the baby's heartbeat again. Our next doctor's appointment is next Wednesday. Daddy will get to hear the heartbeat this time.
The baby's room is empty and we have decided on fabric for the crib bedding, but nothing else is done yet. We have a lot to do in a very short amount of time!!! Mommy and Daddy better get on the ball. We will let you know how the next appointment goes!

Doctors Appointment

10 Weeks Pregnant...Yesterday we had another Doctors appointment. The nurse asked us a bunch of family history questions and Mommy health questions. Mommy also had to go through a not so fun part!! But everything was normal. They gave us TONS of magazines, pamphlets, and a book to keep and read. I don't think I will be pregnant long enough to get through it all!!! The next appointment is in four weeks and we will hear the heartbeat again. We are excited to hear that little heart! Sunday Daddy is going to empty the baby room of all the Mommy furniture. Hopefully we will get started on this room!!!!

This is our 8 week picture. Check back next month to see if my belly is growing. I know it looks like it has grown but I looked like this before I got pregnant. Sad I know! We will be doing monthly pictures to keep track of the baby growth.

The First Sonogram and Big News!!

8 Weeks Pregnant...Today was our first sonogram! We saw the heart beating and got to hear it on the sonogram machine. It was 174 beats per minute. Chad and I thought it was pretty exciting to actually see the little baby. It made the whole experience a little more real!! Can't wait for the next one, so we can see more details of the baby.

We have other exciting news too. Yesterday the baby's cousin number 4 was born. Chad's brother and sister-in-law had a little girl Shelby Samantha Lohnes. She is very cute and everyone is doing great. There is a picture of the family below.

Here are the baby's other cousins number 1 Kierra, 2 Kendrick, and 3 Kynzie. Can't leave them out of the new baby's page!!!

Surprise We Are Pregnant!!!!!!!!

3 Weeks Pregnant...We found out on August 1st that we are expecting a bundle of joy on April 10, 2008. Mommy told Daddy, by giving him a card that was babyish. Then I handed him the EPT test I took that afternoon. He was very excited and we both couldn't believe that this special day was finally here! Our first sonogram pictures will be August 30. We will post the pictures of the little peanut then.
